Talk to your kids about saving energy

Your kids probably know how important it is to save energy and you know how important it is, but – have you had the conversation?kids

There are many ways to save energy in your home and your kids can be a big part of the action plan. They may even know more about saving energy than you do. The U. S. Department of Energy has developed the Easy Energy Action Plan, 10 simple ways to use energy wisely. It is a check sheet that includes turning off game systems when not in use, Energy Star appliances and programmable thermostats. Take a look at the list, take 10 minutes at dinner time and have the conversation with your kids. Your family can all participate and challenge each other to be energy smart.

More information for kids about saving energy can be found at the U.S. Department of Energy website: Kids Saving Energy. The web site includes information about renewable energy and games to test your energy knowledge.
