Traveling out of town?

travelHere are some eco-friendly travel tips:

 Before leaving:

  • Turn down your thermostat at your house before you leave.
  • Unplug appliances that use phantom energy – coffee pots, microwaves, chargers, stereos, televisions.

 On your way there:green hotels association

  • Take a bus.
  • Fly direct if you can, it uses less energy.
  • Travel light – take only what you need.
  • Take a refillable water bottle with you.
  • Fill re-usable containers with the products you need instead of buying additional sundries.

 When you are at your vacation destination:

  • Find an eco-friendly hotel (see the Green Hotels Association link), while you are there reuse your towels.
  • Walk around town or use public transportation.
  • Rent a bike.
  • If you have to rent a car – ask for a hybrid.

  1. I think this is a very effective guideline before and on the way of traveling. Like, unplug appliances that use phantom energy, take the bus, refill a water bottle, Turn down your thermostat at your house before you leave, etc.

    thats an nice advice for helping our planet. As you said earlier in regards to the care of vehicle – do proper tire inflation, tune-up, oil change and please don’t leave your vehicle idling for long periods of time and FUEL CONDITIONING. Every one can Increase Fuel Efficiency ++ Reduce Carbon Footprint if they are using good fuel conditioners..:):);)
