Have you tapped into the energy & money savings of having a programmable thermostat at home? Recently, over at the University Facilities Center (UFC) we received the latest software revision for some of our building controls which allow us to schedule the Trane fan coils in the UFC globally. What that means is in addition to the temperature set-backs that took place last winter, the UFC building will now save more energy by relaxing the temperature set points and cycle fans during the hours when the building is typically not occupied. The default occupied schedule has been created for Monday through Friday from 6am-6pm. But just in case anyone needs to come to work after hours or weekends, there is a button that can be pushed to provide a 2 hour window of occupied override time.
