Clay’s Corner

Judy ClayMadness continues! A tip of the fedora to neighbors Syracuse and Cornell for dancing to the Sweet 16 in D-I men’s bball. There’s always next year. Of course, a huge kudo to our Yellowjackets for making it to the Final Four for D-III women’s basketball. A terrific accomplishment. You made all of us proud.

A couple of weeks ago I had the honor of speaking at a conference for facilities professionals on the importance of professional development. The conference was held at the University of Vermont’s Davis Conference Center.  Big deal, huh? Well, the big deal was the Davis Conference Center. This drop-dead gorgeous building was erected in 2007 and is certified LEED Gold.  Energy efficient, wonderfully designed, environmentally friendly; it has all the attributes a modern conference/student center should have. It is warm in both temperature and atmosphere. Here’s a look at the Davis Center: http://www.uvm.edu/~conf/clientphotos/CAESBrochureComplete.pdf

If you have the opportunity to travel to Burlington, VT a trip to the Davis Confererence Center should be in store. You’ll be glad you did. Have a weekend full of frolicking fun! And turn those lights off on Saturday from 8:30-9:30PM for Earth Hour. Author/philosopher Aldous Huxley wrote: There’s only one corner of the universe you can be certain of improving, and that’s your own self.  So you have to begin there, not outside, not on other people.  That comes afterward, when you’ve worked on your own corner.
