PRINCIPAL INVESTIGATOR

Andrew Berger has been on the faculty of The Institute of Optics since 2000.  In the core of the department’s undergraduate degree program, he has taught undergraduate classes in Electromagnetic Theory, Quantum Theory, and sophomore through senior laboratory classes.  He also teaches a combined undergrad/grad class on Biomedical Optics.

RESEARCH STAFF

Keren Chen is a postdoctoral researcher working on Raman spectroscopy and microscopy. He joined the group in the fall of 2017 after he got his PhD degree from Nanyang Technological University in Singapore.

GRADUATE STUDENTS

Katie Dunn began her PhD work at The Institute of Optics in Fall of 2017. She is currently studying angular scattering from single cells using quantitative phase imaging and Fourier transform light scattering. In her free time she enjoys Nordic skiing, orienteering, and trail running.

 

Christie Massie started her PhD studies in the Biomedical Engineering Department in the fall of 2017. She is currently working on using Raman spectroscopy as a preclinical tool for assessing bone quality and health. In her free time, she enjoys rock climbing, playing volleyball, and softball.
