C’mon back! It’s not Friday, yet. Don’t be scared! The Corner is bloggin’ a day early because we’ll be working our 3rd annual household electronics round up from 6:30AM(ugh) to 4:30PM at the lovely Park Lot on the majestic University of Rochester campus.
We are quite proud of this event. We are a university in every sense of the word. Our commitment to sustainability reaches far beyond the campus boundries.
Once a year we invite all faculty, staff, students and community members to bring their old, unwanted, obsolete electronic equipment to our round-up where our vendor, Sunnking will dispose of these items in an evironmentally friendly way. Sorry, no tvs again this year (but we’re working on it).
So, don’t leave that hard drive at the curb where you may be a victim to identity theft, think before leaving that monitor for your city/town to take to the landfill. Clean out that garage/basement and bring it to us on Friday, October 29.
Last year we collected over 26,000 pounds of electronics! Let’s top it this year.
