As you may or may not know, Earth Day is this Thursday, so now is a good time for us all to think about small acts that can make a difference. Did you know that every second, 8 printer cartridges are thrown away? Here like at any university, a lot of things get printed. From student papers to staff reports, ink jets and toner cartridges come and go faster than sunny days in April. With all that we do on a daily basis, it can be easy to not even think about what happens to these cartridges after they’re empty. But next time you go to change the ink or toner cartridge on your personal or office printer, don’t just throw away the empty one. Instead, you can have it recycled for free. - Quad, Sue B., Hill Court, & Towers Residential Life Offices
Even though recycling the empty ink cartridge when you’re trying to get a document to print may not be the first thing on your mind, it is representative of a lot of the small things that we often forget to do that can add up to make a big difference. So it’s important that we all do our best to remember the little things.
Last year alone, we recycled approximately 3 tons of material, so let’s see how much we can get this year! To help spread the word, print and post this flyer in a copy room near you. But remember not to print too many!
