On November 19th, the U of R SPIE Chapter showcased optics at the 2016 Rochester Mini Maker Faire. The demos included a FLIR infrared camera, polarizers, an amplitude modulated laser in free space communication, grating glasses, as well as a 3D printed VR headset with an app programmed by optics majors that give a virtual tour of the U of R campus.
