Dear Fellow Students:
Are you seeking a chance to practice your talk for your next conference presentation? Are you eager to share your latest fancy findings with colleagues? Do you want to meet people doing similar work from the other corner of campus? Or are you simply hungry for a refreshing dessert in the summer?
Then come or present at our “SPIE Summer Student Colloquium Series”!
We are the UR student chapter of SPIE. SPIE is an international society advancing light-based research. With this Summer Student Colloquium Series, students from across campus will come and share any aspect of their scholastic work, so long as it is related to light or imaging. Examples of relevant topics include: optical design, lasers, nano-optics, communications, ultrasound, medical imaging, spectroscopy, and many more. Past presentations can be found at http://blogs.rochester.edu/spie/?cat=3
The format of your presentation is casual and you may even choose the length (15min to an hour). You can present your research or give a tutorial on a topic of interest. Anything related to light or imaging! Talks that have been/will be given at a conference are also welcome.
We will provide a variety of *desserts* at the colloquium! Attendees will be encouraged to bring brown-bag lunches. All presenters will receive a gift voucher valued at $25!
To submit, fill the form out: HERE
or email your name and contact info to urspie@gmail.com.
The weekly series is tentatively scheduled for 12-1PM Tuesdays.
Thanks! We look forward to hearing from you!
Sincerely,
Summer Student Colloquium committee of UR SPIE chapter
