Rob Holcomb
After receiving his BS in Applied Physics and Mathematics from SUNY Geneseo in 2019, Rob began as a Ph.D. student at the Institute of Optics. He is a student of Jake Bromage in the Laser Technology Development Group at the Laboratory for Laser Energetics where he studies algorithmic control of High Average Power Regenerative Amplifiers. In his spare time, he enjoys exploring the Finger Lakes Region by foot, kayak, bike, or ski.

Yiwen Fan
Yiwen is a PhD student in Jannick Rolland’s research group, studying the optical characteristics of Metaform and doing some programming work. She graduated in 2018 with a BS degree in Optical Engineering in Beijing, China. In her spare time, Yiwen enjoys playing video games with friends, cooking, and sometimes learning how to brew a nice pour over coffee.

Quazi Rushnan Islam
Rushnan is a PhD student in the Knox lab at the Institute of Optics, where she studies femtosecond laser micromachining in ophthalmic materials. She graduated with a BS degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, taking long walks and learning new languages.

Shravan Gupta
Shravan is a Ph.D. student at the Institute of Optics, advised by Scott Carney and Jim Zavislan. His research is focused on quantitative phase imaging and its applications in ICF target metrology and histopathology. Shravan enjoys playing saxophone, badminton, and lifting.
