Apps that help the environment

Few are the people who do not own a smartphone today. It’s such a versatile tool that our daily lives are now depending on it. Did you know that your phone can help you become more eco-friendly? There are several apps that you can use to protect the environment. Here are a few of them:

Ecosia: Ecosia is a search engine that uses their ad revenue to plant trees (130+ millions and counting). By substituting your default search engine with Ecosia, you can contribute to reforestation by just searching the web. Ecosia has a mobile browser so you can search and plant trees on the go!

YourLocal: Food waste is huge problem in the United States. According to Feeding America, nearly 40% of all food in America is wasted. This is an immense issue considering all the resources and energy that go into the production of crops and produce. YourLocal is an app that helps prevent food waste by connecting local shops with food surplus and the local community.

reGAIN: reGAIN is an app where you can turn your unwanted clothes into discount coupons. By returning your used clothes, you can get coupons on your next purchase. The reGAIN app has partnered with many high-profile brands such as Asics, New Balance and Boohoo. They are also working closely with charities.
