The Greene Career Center, located in Dewey Hall on the River Campus, has launched a Career Clothing Closet to provide students with access to professional attire for upcoming interviews, summer internships, the first days on a new job, conferences, etc. For now, it is open to undergraduates in the College, but by fall, the organizers hope to broaden its scope to include even more of the University of Rochester student community. Through generous donations from faculty, staff, alumni, and local employers, they have collected an inventory that includes suits, dress shirts, dress pants, skirts, dresses, ties, shoes, bags, and jewelry.

The Career Clothing Closet is located in Lattimore Hall, room 124. It is now open and accepting appointments via Handshake for students to browse the inventory and select an item or two of clothing. They are very excited to share this resource with University students.

The center’s executive director, Joe Testani, came up with the idea, and Christina Pero has worked on coordinating the initiative’s logistics. It has been a collective effort, with many employees, particularly from the center, donating clothing to support the closet. Student employee Michelle Dashevsky also assisted with getting the closet ready and prepped to open in early April.
