Student’s Corner

I’ve just returned from my last Spring Break trip of my undergraduate career to the enchanting Denver, Colorado. There’s something about being in beautiful places that really make me think even harder about my impact on the earth. I realize that I am very small and my life won’t even take up a fraction of the time that those mountains have been or will be around, but I still worry about the impact that just one tiny human can have on such amazing places.

I don’t really have any interesting tricks or tips for you in this article; I suppose all I really want to do is encourage you to go outside and find somewhere beautiful that makes you feel special. Breathe deeply and enjoy the wonderful things that nature has to offer, and remember not to take them for granted.

While you’re out in nature, remember to stay on the trails to protect the beautiful places and follow the rules. I know it sounds lame and it really doesn’t seem like one little human can have an impact, but the little things matter.
