Facilities Team Green is seeking to fill the position of Sustainability Marketing/Writing Intern for the summer (20 hours/week) as well as the academic year beginning next fall (average 10 hours/week). Current University of Rochester students who would like to be considered should email Amy Kadrie (amy.kadrie@rochester.edu) by Friday, March 17. Please specify if you are interested in employment for the summer, acadmic year, or both.
The employee will assist in a marketing plan for recycling and sustainability projects. Will design promotion and advertising material for programs and events. Will participate in and help coordinate events such as RecycleMania and Earth Day. Educate students and employees regarding the department’s and University’s commitment to sustainability. Utilize social media tools including the ‘UR Sustainable’ Facebook page. Responsible for writing GoGreen! articles that are published bi-weekly in the ‘@Rochester’ employee newsletter, the Weekly Buzz, URMC Today, and other media sources as applicable. Preparing GoGreen! articles will include conducting research on various topics, interviewing key players, and adhering to a schedule to complete articles in a timely fashion. Other writing assignments may include blog article, preparing applications for various sustainability related awards, preparing the annual Milestone summary, and other assignments as needed.
