Student’s Corner – A Final Farewell

Well, my Green Dandelions, it has come to the time that I must pack up, move on, and leave Facilities and Services. I’m leaving Rochester this weekend to start a new adventure – law school at Syracuse University.184402_10151840369704714_348162455_n

What an amazing 2 and a half years it has been working for Facilities. I’ve learned so much about recycling, sustainability, the University, and the amazing people that keep it running. These have been invaluable lessons that I will take with me as I move forward.

It may seem like bringing in a reusable water bottle to school or recycling that piece a paper isn’t worth it, but that is wrong. We all can make a difference, we just have to care enough about ourselves and the ones around us.

A huge thank you to everyone at 612 and UFC. You have been like a second home to. To my two work “moms,” Fazeelah and Amy, thank you for always being there for me and listening to my silly problems. You two are my moral compass, my role models, and my friends. I am so lucky to have met you both and to have had the opportunity to make a difference on this campus. #blessed 😉

So I leave you with this: ask questions, actively participate, and work hard. Tell the ones that you appreciate that you do, and when someone does a good job – let them know. Share your ideas and listen to others. It’s the little things you do in life that can make the biggest difference.
