Five simple things You and Your Kids can do this summer to help the environment

One –         Plant trees in your community. Have you ever notices how much cooler it is in the shade under a tree compared to a parking lot. Trees help filter pollutants, recycle water and provide food for humans and animals.

Two –         Pay attention to how much water you use. Instead of running the water full force while you brush your teeth, turn on the water only when it is needed.

Three –         Recycle; Monroe County now accepts plastics 1 through 7. Make sure you recycle all that is possible.

Four –         Turn off the lights. It keeps your home cooler and eliminates wasted energy. If you’re not using it don’t turn it on. Take advantage of daylight where possible.

Five –         Use washable dishes and silverware. It is easy and convenient to pull out those disposable items, but using washable reduces waste.

Teach your children well…

  1. Nice post and I really appreciate your hard work. Blog commenting is also the best medium to share our views. Nice article you have shared.

  2. This is a great idea, if everyone can do it, trees are good for the environment, our health and also support wildlife. The trees are better! Trees turn carbon dioxide into oxygen so they’re naturally good for the environment. They also provide a home for wildlife such as insects, birds and squirrels.
