Hey! Where are ya going????? Long holiday weekend, eh? Sweet! Here at UR our Central Utilities gurus sent out an email reminder to all Facilities staff to turn off lights, computers, other electronic equipment prior to running out the door like our hair’s on fire 🙂

I’d like to share that reminder with all employees wherever you may be today. Do you remember to power down, daily? Weekends? Some of you may need to check with your IT/department admin folks since a lot of the work IT does happens overnight. But you don’t need clearence to power down most if not all of your electrical equipment/lights.

What happens at home? It’s vacation time and away you go; do you re-set your air conditioning, change the fridge temp., shut down those home computers, coffee makers? What about lighting? Are any of those on timers?

And don’t forget to take good care of your vehicle: proper tire inflation, tune-up, oil change and please don’t leave your vehicle idling for long periods of time. Even without the AC on it is still a waste of fuel and every little bit helps in helping the planet.

Well, now that you’ve done all that you’re now too tired to go on vacation. Never!!!! Enjoy the “unofficial” middle of summer. Have fun, stay safe and we’ll keep the blog on for you!
