Event Recap: A Trip to Letchworth

With or without notice, fall is slipping away fast. Yet, 16 UPK residents and friends were lucky enough to grasp some of the best scenes of the season on Sunday, Oct 25th during a group trip to the famous Letchworth state park. Located about 40 minutes drive south of Rochester, Letchworth is also known as “the grand canyon of the east”. After a brief lunch, most of the participants hiked along the famous three falls, which are surrounded by colorful foliage and cozy sunshine.

Sign up for a trip to the beautiful letchworth!

Have you noticed that the foilages around are having amazing colors at this time of the year? Preveliged only in the north east, this fall scene won’t last long before the winter sneaks in. Such a beauty will be more breath-catching in a state park, e.g., Letchworth (a.k.a. the grand canyon of the east).

UPK invites you and your friends to join a half day tour to the Letchworth state park this sunday (depending on the weather). We will organize carpool, and will provide sandwich lunch. The trip will leave UPK around 10:30 am.

All you need to do is to send RSVP to <gca.upk@gmail.com> with the following info before NOON, SATURDAY: # of people coming with you, weather you need a ride or can provide ride to other people (specify # of people in both cases), and your telephone number. We will keep an eye on the weather, and let you know more details later.

The Days are getting shorter and the infamous Rochester winter looms large just over the horizon. There is plenty of reason to celebrate out-doors while the weather is still warm and wonderful!

On Sunday, September 12, 2009, more than fifty residents from University Park participated UPK’s End-of-Summer BBQ. It gave people a good chance to catch up with neighbors and get all of their friends and family together for a laughter-filled time.
