Bee Day 2019

The end of the semester is right around the corner which means it’s time for Dining Team Green’s annual Bee Day!

Every year, Dining Team Green celebrates Bee Day two days before our beloved Dandelion Day. This year Bee Day falls on April 24th. Bee Day celebrates bees contributions to our ecosystem as well as raising awareness of declining bee population. Check out some of the events and activities we have planned!

Bee Dinner:

Stop by Danforth Dining Hall on Thursday April 25th for our Bee Dinner. Enjoy a meal centered around foods that would not exist without these important pollinators.

Douglass Expression Wall:

Join us in creating a big bee family! From Saturday, April 20th to April 27th we will have our honeycomb interactive expression wall outside of the Burgett Intercultural Center on the third floor of Douglass Commons. Come draw bees and flowers or write why bees are important!

iZone Expression Wall:

Want a fun and meaningful study break? Stop by iZone during the week of April 21st  to share why bees matter!

Bee Kind Pins:

Wouldn’t it bee cool to have a bee kind pin?!  Our popular bee kind pins are back and better than ever!

Stop by our table on the second floor of Wilson Commons from April 29th to May 1st to get your bee kind pin! Pins will be sold for a minimum donation of $3. All money will be donated to Sweet Beez, a local non-profit organization that works with the Rochester community to increase local bee populations.

Even better? With each purchase and additional dollar spent, you will be entered into a raffle to win a basket of bee related items provided by Lori’s Natural Foods!
