Student’s Corner

“When it comes to clothes these days, maybe you should ask: What’s your waste size?” quips Zhai Yun Tan in an NPR article from last year.

Why is this? With companies churning out the latest styles more frequently and on an industrial level, there has been a dramatic increase in textile waste. Most companies are guilty of this and your closet is likely filled with their products; I know mine is. So what can we do to change this? Be a conscious consumer. Here are a few clothing companies with production and distribution styles that you can get behind:

  1. Patagonia – (check out their Worn Wear Program)
  2. Style Saint
  3. G Star Raw
  4. EcoVibe
  5. Aeon Row
  6. Study NY
  7. Threads for Thought
  8. YSTR
  9. People Tree
  10. Rent the Runway
