Each year the University of Rochester updates its Sustainability Milestones which include accomplishments in the areas of Recycling and Waste Reduction, Ecology, Energy, Hazardous Materials, Construction, Power Plant, Purchasing, and many more. The 2015 Milestones are coming soon. In 2014… the University was the recipient of two honorable awards. In July, the University received the prestigious APPA Sustainability Award for demonstrating excellence in sustainability practices for an educational facility. The EPA also recognized the University with an Honorable Mention for its successful participation in the national WasteWise program.
