Fast Forward Film Festival – call for entries

Good morning,

My name is Rebecca Delaney and I am the Project Director for the inaugural Fast Forward Film Festival- a project showcasing new environmental perspectives in the greater Rochester region, sponsored by WXXI, RIT, Pollution Prevention Institute, George Eastman House, and the Little Theatre. The University of Rochester has been identified as a Green Business within the greater Rochester & Finger Lakes region. One of our goals for the project is to connect our community together for our collaborative project to raise awareness about the environment.

The project itself is a video/film competition, that calls on anyone or business in the local community to start a conversation around the environment through film. These days, everyone is a filmmaker, and we hope to receive entries from anyone, of any age, whether an experienced filmmaker/artist with hi-tech equipment or someone who cares to tell the story through capturing footage on their iPhone.

Our website is www.fastforwardroc.org. There is no entry fee to submit. Individuals or groups may submit entries. There are large cash prizes for the winners. Films of all types and genres will be considered as long as they are 5 minutes or less. Submissions opened yesterday, and we will accept submissions through February 27th. The festival itself and general public screenings at The Little and Dryden Theatre‘s will be held April 17 & 18th to kickoff earth week.

I would be honored to work with you and your team to align our organizations in some way. Anything you can do to help us spread the word in the environmental or film/art community would be much appreciated (e.g. social media retweets, posts; including us in any e-communications or newsletters; hanging our flyers on your community boards (I would mail them to you); leaving out postcards at your location; considering us for programming opportunities in the future, etc.) The opportunities are limitless, we’d be happy to work with you to sponsor any “green” events, as well.

Lastly, we do have a friend of the festival network that can be found online at: http://www.fastforwardroc.org/resources/#friends. Should you wish to discuss joining our network of resources for filmmakers, please do let me know. I would be happy to set up a time to talk with you.

I very much look forward to hearing from you. Thank you for considering helping us with this unique project! Please let me know if you have any questions.

Best,

Rebecca
