EARTH DAY, EARTH VIGIL

EARTH DAY, EARTH VIGIL

April 22, 2014, noon – 2 pm

On the pedestrian bridge, High Falls

“There were all kinds of fish to be found in great abundance up the river as far as the lower falls: salmon, caught in scoop nets; cat- fish, weighing as much as 15 to 20 pounds…; sturgeon, weighing 150 pounds (called “Albany beef”), could be speared easily or caught with a hook and line.”

–     Description of the Genesee River,1837.

Please join the Rochester Zen Center on Earth Day, April 22,

to help raise awareness that the Genesee River is one of the most polluted bodies of water in the United States. We will demonstrate in silence

(but you don’t have to practice meditation in order to help).

Because sometimes silence speaks louder than words.

Earth Vigil is sponsored by the Rochester Zen Center and Earth Vigil.
