New Student Employment Opportunities: Fall 2014

University Facilities and Services, Support Operations has two student employment opportunities under the supervision of the Recycling Coordinator  available for this Fall 2014. Sustainability Marketing Intern:

The employee will assist in a marketing plan for recycling and sustainability projects, design promotional and advertising material for programs and events and participate in and help coordinate events such as RecycleMania and Earth Day. The position will serve as a leader to help educate students and employees regarding the department’s and University’s commitment to sustainability and will utilize social media tools to help do so.

The ideal candidate will have a background and interest in environmental sustainability. Skills in graphic design and Photoshop are required as well as strong time management skills and the ability to communicate and work well with others.

Sustainability Writing Intern:

Writing Intern:

The employee is responsible for writing Go Green! articles that are published bi-weekly in the ‘@Rochester’ employee newsletter, the Weekly Buzz, URMC Today, and other media sources as applicable. Preparing Go Green! articles will include conducting research on various topics, interviewing key players, and adhering to a schedule to complete articles in a timely fashion. Other writing assignments may include blog article, preparing applications for various sustainability related awards, preparing the annual milestone summary, and other assignments as needed.

The ideal candidate will have a background and interest in environmental sustainability, is proficient in writing with experience in writing for a newspaper or newsletter, possesses strong time management skills and the ability to work and communicate well with others.

A Sustainability Research Internship is also being offered this summer through Professor Randall Curran’s office.
