Clay’s Green Corner

Well, brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! Those of us in the Northeast and Western New York caught a quick autumn chill the past few days. You know this is the time of year to get those furnaces serviced, change filters and do all you can do to make you heating system as efficient as possible. This week was our wake-up call. So, get hopping!

Our event name has changed but not our mission. Huh?  What? Are you confused? Can’t follow where I’m going? Well, this is no different than any other week at the Green Corner. What event has a name change? Our Annual Household Electronic Recycling Event is now called “E-Cycle”. Be on the lookout for flyers and notices coming soon. We are still on for Friday, October 28 (another non-change), still in Park Lot, and still happy to take your unwanted electronic items from 6:30AM to 4:30PM that day.

You say, “Cool, Green Corner, but is there anything really differernt?” Glad you asked! First we thank Sunnking, our e-waste vendor who once again is partnering with UR Facilities and Services to bring this to you. What’s better is this year we will be accepting televisions for the first time! What’s best is that for every pound of electronics that Sunnking receives they make a monetary donation to Foodlink. If this isn’t win-win-win, then I’m stumped.

So, crunk into the attic, break dance into the basement, tango into the garage and get your items together. October 28 is not that far away. You get to do something good for your planet, your local community and especially when you drop off your items you are helping to feed those less fortunate. And in today’s world it could be any of us. With Fall, comes Thanksgiving, so start yours off right by participating in E-Cycle.
