The tower crane has been up for a few weeks and the first steel beams are already in place! Things are moving quickly as we prepare for our new children’s hospital opening in 2015!
We recently had the privilege of touring the construction site of the future Golisano Children’s Hospital! Project Coordinator, Mike O’Connell, and Project Manager, Evangelos Yannas, gave us an inside look at the building progress, as well as a detailed description of what it will look like once complete!
Watch the more than 155′ tall tower crane be assembled through a time lapse video and get an understanding of where healing gardens, imaging sciences, main patient elevators, and more, will be!
One of the most exciting and monumental changes is the placing of the first pieces of steel! Delivered in multiple loads, steel has already been placed both vertically and horizontally. Seeing the steel rise from the foundation of what is quickly becoming the new children’s hospital and thinking of the patients and families the building will soon serve is truly inspiring.
