Happy new year from all of us at SBAI, we hope that everyone had a joyful and restful holiday! Here at the office we have been hard at work planning for an event filled spring semester. There are many things in store, including the (en)Gendered Juried Art Show this Friday, the International Graduate Student Research Conference in Gender and Women’s Studies, Women’s History Month Film Series (in partnership with WXXI and The Little Theatre) and festivities including our popular International Women’s Day field trip, and LGBTQI Awareness Month Film Series and events (with generous support from the LGBT Fund of Greater Rochester). These are just a handful of the many events we’ll be hosting this Spring, visit the events page of our website for more goings-on and detailed information, and check out the blog regularly for announcements!
Remember to stop by the AsIs Gallery of Sage Art Center this Friday at 5pm for the opening reception of (en)Gendered. We will have vegetarian and vegan friendly refreshments provided by Open Face Sandwich Eatery, Heather Layton, Senior Lecturer in Art at the University of Rochester, will deliver a gallery talk, and this year’s Jury will announce the winners of the Juror’s Prizes!
We are so pleased with the nearly 70 works in the exhibition this year and we are very grateful to have had the opportunity yet again to work with The Department of Art and Art History and the wonderful folks at Sage Art Center in putting this year’s show together!
We hope to see you there!
