We are so excited that Meliora Weekend is almost here! SBAI is pleased to be collaborating on a public event with the University of Rochester Pride Network. On Saturday October 12th, there will be a breakfast and panel discussion highlighting issues in education for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, Queer and Questioning (LGBTQ) students on campus. Our goal is both to highlight our new course offerings in LGBTQI Studies and to solicit information on how we can improve and expand our current student services.
The panelists include:
- Moderator, Warner School Professor Edward Brockenbrough, Ph.D. M.S.
- Alumna, BJ Douglass
- Alumnus, Noah Drezner, Ph.D.
- Student, Clint Cantwell
- Student, Margaret Speer
The event is in Meliora Restaurant Salon D from 9:00 am to 11:00 am. The more people in attendance, the more ideas will be exchanged, and the better we can work to improve upon our current LGBTQI offerings. The event is free of charge with a continental plus breakfast (danishes, coffee, bagels and more!).
Faculty, alumnae, and current students are already registering for this free event. You can let us know if you’ll be coming by registering online by emailing us at sbai@rochester.edu by October 7th. We hope to see you there!
