One of our favorite things about SBAI’s blog is that it serves as a space to foster respectful conversation about tough issues related to gender and women’s studies, feminist activism, and social justice. Since 2011, we have been sharing blog posts from guest writers, including members of our University community and individuals from around the nation. As always, we value these conversations and believe in the power to transform communities through dialogue, especially when we can share multiple standpoints and differing opinions.
Professor Honey Meconi released a statement last week in response to recent activity in the blogosphere. In her post, she mentioned the University’s purpose to educate, and offered resources for learning about rape and its consequences, tools for changing the climate that facilitate rape, and services for those who have experienced sexual assault.
Professor James Johnson, Department of Political Science, University of Rochester, has shared with us his recent blog post on the controversy. You are invited to read Professor Johnson’s post from April 4 by following this link.
