Tonight at 7:30pm in the Gowen Room of Wilson Commons, SBAI will co-host our last installment of our Women’s History Month Film Series Herstory: Inspiration in Film with a screening of Orgasm Inc.: The Strange Science of Female Pleasure.
Via Orgasm Inc:
Initially, (filmmaker Liz Canner) plans to create a movie about science and pleasure but she soon begins to suspect that her employer, along with a cadre of other medical companies, might be trying to take advantage of women – and potentially endanger their health – in pursuit of billion dollar profits. ORGASM INC. is a powerful look inside the medical industry and the marketing campaigns that are literally and figuratively reshaping our everyday lives around health, illness, desire — and that ultimate moment: orgasm.
This free screening of Orgasm Inc. includes soda and snacks and is bound to be a hit. While Herstory: Inspiration in Film may be over after tonight, don’t forget that our LGBTQI Film Series Out in Reel is in motion and continues next week with a screening of Shoulders to Stand On on April 13th at 7:00pm in Dewey 1101. More information for all screenings in Out in Reel can be found here.
This Friday, April 8th, SBAI will be hosting the 2011 Undergraduate Research Conference for Gender and Women’s Studies in the Gamble Room of Rush Rhees, 10:00am-4:00pm.
