Interpersonal Violence Impacts Everyone

Besides being Domestic Violence Awareness Month, it’s also Sexual Assault Awareness Week. Join Women’s Caucus and the Tae Kwon Do for their “Kick Assault” self-defense workshop tonight and learn how you can protect yourself! The event takes place in the Wilson Commons May Room from 6:00pm to 7:00pm.

In other news related to the month of awareness-raising, a new report published in the Journal of Interpersonal Violence says that bisexual women and gay men face elevated risks of intimate partner violence. The information comes from a new report by Naomi G. Goldberg, MPP and Ilan H. Meyer, PhD, Senior Scholar for Public Policy at the Williams Institute. You can read the whole report at the Williams Institute Website. This information will be important for policy makers, as well as counselors and health care specialists.
