For the second installment of our Herstory: Inspiration in Film Women’s History Month Film Series, we will be screening Iron Jawed Angels tomorrow at 7:00pm in the Gowen Room of Wilson Commons.
Katja von Garnier’s “Iron Jawed Angels” tells the remarkable and little-known story of a group of passionate and dynamic young women, led by Alice Paul (Hilary Swank) and her friend Lucy Burns (Frances O’Connor), who put their lives on the line to fight for American women’s right to vote.
This true story has startling parallels to today, as the young activists struggle with issues such as the challenges of protesting a popular President during wartime and the perennial balancing act between love and career.
All screenings in this series are free and we will be providing popcorn, soda and snacks!
