Stephanie Li’s New Article on HuffPost

We love to share news and publications from our Faculty Associates and Steering Committee members, so we were thrilled to see Stephanie Li’s blog post on the Huffington Post College Page yesterday.  Li’s post, “The White Elephant in Romney’s Room,” takes a closer look at Governor Mitt Romney’s recent news-making statements. Li unpacks the rhetoric surrounding whiteness, privilege, and politics in Gov. Romney’s campaign. In her post, Li lays a foundation for readers by citing Peggy McIntosh’s widely referenced article “White Privilege: Unpacking the Invisible Knapsack,” a useful tool for teaching about and understanding white privilege. Whether you are interested in critical race studies or you just want to learn more, take a look at this timely article.
