Here is an excerpt from WHAM13.com after the announcement that Dr. Anne Kress was an ATHENA Award winner:
Monroe Community College President Anne Kress was presented with the Rochester Business Alliance Women’s Council’s ATHENA Award during a ceremony Thursday.
She was selected from 15 finalists based on her significant professional achievements, community service endeavors, and leadership in the advancement of other professional women.
As Monroe Community College’s fifth president, Kress leads a nationally recognized, multi-campus college that enrolls more than 37,000 students each year.
Not included in this report is that she is also an artist and quilter.
I have always loved Matisse’s work — its bold colors, increasingly abstract collage aesthetic, its joy!
I sought to capture that depth and richness of layers, each echoing and expanding the other.
Art Reflected: The Inspiration of 100 Years is now on view through out the Gallery through April 21. The exhibit has been extended! All of the new works are available for purchase through the Gallery Store.
