Alison Saar to speak at MAG
Alison Saar, renown sculptor, print maker and graphic artist, will join us at the Memorial Art Gallery to speak on her Maquette for “Swing Low” (see below) and her creative process. She will meet in the “Seeing America” Late 20th Century hallway at 1:00 on Thursday the 29th. Following that, she will join Garth to record an interview with Bob Smith at WXXI 1370. This show will be aired on Friday, November 30th at 1 pm.
Alison is in town with her evocative set pieces for the Rochester premier of “Lighthouse/Lightning Rod,” the latest collaboration created by Garth Fagan and Wynton Marsalis. The program corresponds with the exhibition “Contemporary African American Printmakers,” presented by Deborah Ronnen Fine Art at the Nazareth College Arts Center Gallery through December 21. Fagan’s “Lighthouse/Lightning Rod” will be preformed at Nazareth College Arts Center through December 2.
This artist conversation is open to the public and included with the admission price to the Gallery. Join us for this opportunity to hear about the never-before, collaborative effort with these three Internationally renown artists.
