Nazareth College Arts Center’s celebration of dance features Cleveland-based Inlet Dance Theatre and local groups Chinese Dance School of Rochester, Converge and FuturePoint. The celebration begins on the Memorial Art Gallery grounds (1913 entrance) and ends at Starry Nites on University Avenue. Bush Mango Drum and Dance (shown performing at MAG in 2007) offer a “traveling” performance and lead festival goers back to the “Faces of Rochester” Fun Day at MAG.

How do you look on paper? Learn to express yourself, take a guided tour of portraits in the MAG collection, and enjoy self-portrait activities led by our Creative Workshop art instructors. Free.

Presented in conjunction with ArtDrop, the Democrat and Chronicle’s public collection area for images, poems, stories, videos and other art competing for spots in the University Avenue Improvements and ARTWalk Extension Project.

Enjoy live music and entertainment and a preview of this regional art showcase, which opens to the public tomorrow. Enjoy contemporary bluegrass performed by Kate Lee with No Strings Attached. Listen to The Plateros, a blues rock band from the Navajo Nation. Relax to light jazz with pianist Jonathan Feldman. Purchase cocktails, coffee and specialty desserts by Max at the Gallery.
