I’m in a Shopping Frame of Mind!

By Lois Sumberg, Gallery Council Member

100_1426As the countdown to Rochester’s most prestigious garage sale, the annual Art and Treasures Sale, begins, put yourself in a shopping frame of mind. If you’re like me and you dream about being on PBS’s Antique Roadshow, this is a unique opportunity to discover a rare treasure hiding amongst the gently used antiques, artwork, jewelry, porcelain, silver crystal, fine linens and furniture offered at the sale. This is a sale like no other sale!

If you believe the early bird gets the worm, plan to beat the crowd and enjoy Bargains and Beer at our early bird sale on Thursday, June 24, from 6-8 pm; $15 with advance reservation; $18 at the door. To get the cheaper advance tickets, call 585-276-8910.

The sale is open to the public Friday, June 25, 10 am-7 pm and Saturday, June 26, 9 am-2 pm, Cutler Union. No admission charge! Sponsored by the Gallery Council of the Memorial Art Gallery, all sales benefit the Memorial Art Gallery.

Unfortunately, the only way to take advantage of the sale is to come to the Gallery. It’s worth the trip. Pictures do not do justice to the items for sale.

That’s definitely one thing I always enjoyed about coming to Rochester is the active community, hopefully I can swing by later this fall to visit my in-laws again!

Thanks for the tip!
