By Larissa Masny, Gallery Buzz Editor
The Helen H. Berkeley Gallery of Ancient Art opened to the public yesterday. This brand new gallery showcases the Memorial Art Gallery’s collection of art from ancient Egypt, Greece, and Rome. Visitors will be able to see intricate details of the works now illuminated by fiber optic lighting. The gallery is also now home to interactive educational components, enhancing the understanding of the cultures represented.
Sydney Greaves, Estelle B. Goldman Assistant Curator of Education, Docent Program, was instrumental in bringing this brand new gallery to the Memorial Art Gallery.
