The Pride Network: http://sa.rochester.edu/pn/index.html

The Pride Network (formerly the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Friends Association) of the University of Rochester was founded originally in 1969 as the Gay Academic Union. Since then, our organization has fostered a supportive environment for the University community to discuss issues of sexuality, diversity, and tolerance and has grown to be an integral role in student activities at the University.

Pride Network’s mission is to: provide and support an open and secure environment to discuss issues of sexuality and identity, provide information and resources concerning sexuality to all University members and provide social and academic activities that are in compliance to the University of Rochester Students’ Association.

Susan B. Anthony Institute for Gender and Women Studies (SBAI)

The Graduate Certificate in Gender and Women’s Studies provides analyses of contemporary theoretical frameworks and methodologies; an historical perspective on women’s studies within and across disciplines; a focus on issues of gender, sexuality, race, class, and ethnicity; and connections between academic and non-academic practices. The Certificate becomes part of the student’s record and serves to document training in gender and women’s studies. Here is the link to the SBAI Graduate Certificate in Gender and Women Studies: http://www.rochester.edu/College/WST/grad/certificate.html

SBAI also has an annual graduate conference, research grants and fellowships, and year-long programming.  They are a huge resource on campus for LGBTQ-related academic work.
