The More You Know. 5 Things is not a series of PSAs, but it is just as—if not more—helpful. Think of them as AKAs or “Advancement Knowledge Announcements.” The goal of 5 Things is to increase knowledge of Advancement and the University by sharing “product knowledge” in an easy-to-access, easy-to-digest format.
So what is it? It is a blog. For now, 5 Things will be primarily used as an internal resource, and therefore lives on the Advancement Intranet. Also, as a blog, old posts will be archived here, creating a library of information. About once a week the Advancement community will receive a 5 Things e-blast that features at least one new topic.
Infinite things. You can’t spell “university” without most of the letters in “universe.” And like the universe, the University is…well, it’s really big. 5 Things will cover topics that range from the broad (University history) to the specific (the Rochester Curriculum) to the fun (University pranks and hijinks), complementing case statement messaging with eventual use as inserts and tools for volunteers.
Give us 5. Suggesting a topic for 5 Things is the 5 Things equivalent of a high-five. We encourage high-fives. We hope for this project to be as much about community and discourse as it is about sharing information. In addition to submitting ideas, the blog format allows you to interact and join the conversation through comments.
3 Offices. Behind 5 Things are the Offices of Campaigns; Communication and Special Projects; and Advancement Services. If you have questions, ideas, or feedback find “Contact” in the top right corner of the page.
